Welcome to the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Handbook!

This document outlines the initiatives and events sponsored by our PTO during the current school year. Our goal is to enhance the educational experience for our students and support our dedicated teachers.

  • The mission of our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is to foster a collaborative partnership between parents, teachers, and the community to enhance the educational experience of our students. We strive to support our educators, promote school spirit, and provide enriching programs and resources that empower every child to achieve their fullest potential. Through active engagement, open communication, and dedicated service, we aim to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we are committed to building a strong, vibrant school community that celebrates diversity and encourages lifelong learning.

  • Principal and Assistant Principal

    • Collaboration: Work closely with the PTO to align initiatives with school goals.
    • Communication: Inform the PTO about school policies, needs, and events.
    • Support: Provide support for PTO events and initiatives, and encourage staff participation

    President

    • Leadership: Provide overall leadership and direction for the PTO.
    • Meetings: Schedule and preside over PTO meetings.
    • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the PTO and school administration.
    • Representation: Represent the PTO at school and community events.
    • Goal Setting: Work with board members to set goals and objectives for the organization.

    Vice President

    • Support: Assist the President in their duties and assume responsibilities in their absence.
    • Committees: Oversee various committees and ensure they are functioning effectively.
    • Event Planning: Help coordinate events and initiatives sponsored by the PTO.
    • Membership: Promote membership and engagement among parents and teachers.

    Treasurer

    • Financial Management: Manage the PTO’s finances, including budgeting and accounting.
    • Reporting: Prepare financial reports for meetings and ensure transparency in financial matters.
    • Fundraising Oversight: Oversee fundraising efforts and ensure proper allocation of funds.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and receipts for all transactions.

    Secretary

    • Documentation: Record minutes of all PTO meetings and distribute them to members.
    • Communication: Manage communication with members, including newsletters and announcements.
    • Membership Records: Maintain an updated list of PTO members and their contact information.
    • Meeting Coordination: Assist in scheduling meetings and preparing agendas.
    • Promotion: Develop marketing materials to promote PTO events and initiatives.
    • Social Media: Manage the PTO’s social media presence and online communication.
    • Community Outreach: Build relationships with local media and community organizations.
    • Branding: Ensure consistent branding and messaging for the PTO across all platforms

    Fundraiser Coordinator

    • Event Organization: Plan and coordinate fundraising events throughout the school year.
    • Community Engagement: Engage local businesses and community members to support fundraising efforts.
    • Goal Setting: Set financial goals for each fundraising initiative and track progress.
    • Volunteer Coordination: Recruit and manage volunteers to assist with fundraising events.

    Yearbook Coordinator

    • Planning: Organize and oversee the production of the school yearbook.
    • Collaboration: Work with students, teachers, and parents to gather photos and content.
    • Budgeting: Manage the budget for yearbook production and sales.
    • Promotion: Promote yearbook sales and ensure timely distribution to students.
  • Year-Round Support

    • Water Softener for Teacher Lounge: Ensuring our teachers have access to quality water year-round.

    Classroom and School Events

    • Popcorn for Classroom Parties: Providing delicious popcorn for various classroom celebrations throughout the year.
    • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Providing snacks for teachers and staff to show appreciation for all the hard work they provide for our students.

    Special Events

    • Breakfast with Santa Inflatables: Hosting a festive breakfast event featuring fun inflatables for students and families.
    • Kindergarten Promotion: Celebrating our youngest learners as they transition to the next grade level.
    • 5th Grade Promotion: Honoring our 5th graders as they complete their elementary education.

    Academic Support

    • State Testing Snacks (Grades 3-5): Offering snacks to students during state testing to keep their energy levels up.
    • 5th Grade Cinco De Mayo Celebration: Organizing a cultural celebration for our 5th graders to learn and appreciate diversity.

    School Spirit and Community

    • Back-to-School Signs: Creating welcoming signs for student
  • Here is a list of exciting events planned for the year to help raise funds for our school:
    Breakfast with Santa

    • Description: A festive breakfast event where families can enjoy a meal with Santa, participate in fun activities, and take photos.
    • Purpose: To raise funds while creating a joyful holiday experience for students and families.

    Boys MVP Night

    • Description: A special evening dedicated to celebrating our boys’ achievements in sports and academics, featuring games, activities, and awards.
    • Purpose: To engage the community and raise funds through ticket sales and sponsorships.

    Sweetheart Dance

    • Description: A charming dance event for our girls and their special guests, complete with music, refreshments, and fun decorations.
    • Purpose: To promote school spirit and raise money through ticket sales and donations.

    Spirit Shirts

    • Description: Sale of school spirit shirts that students can wear to show their school pride.
    • Purpose: To foster school spirit while generating funds for school programs and activities.

    McTeacher Night at McDonald’s

    • Description: A fun evening where teachers serve food at a local McDonald’s, with a percentage of sales going to the school.
    • Purpose: To build community relationships and raise funds while having a great time with families.

    School-Wide Fundraiser

    • Description: a school-wide fundraiser to raise funds for significant items to enhance student learning. This initiative reflects our commitment to providing our students with the best educational resources and experiences.
    • Purpose: The funds raised from this event will be allocated towards purchasing essential items such as:
      • Classroom supplies and materials
      • Outdoor learning
      • Outdoor play

     

    We encourage everyone to participate in these events and support our fundraising efforts to enhance our school’s programs and resources!
